BSG.CS.00605 — Cloth Seal, Cloth Worker's Personal Seal, Initialled, SH, 1500~1700

Found in Staffordshire.

It is difficult sometimes to know where decoration that includes initials becomes a ligature and where they become a merchant/privy mark. This rivet type seal has an S and an H? either side of some intricate scroll work. The design suggests an 18th or 19th century use.
