BSG.BS.01367 — The Leeds Phosphate Works Seal, Basic Slag

The Leeds Phosphate Works Seal, Basic Slag, Image by Beau Dandy

Found in England, 23mm.

With the help of another seal there are five lines one under the other - THE / LEEDS / PHOSPHATE / WORKS / LTD. // BASIC / SLAG.

Ward's Directory of Newcastle-on-Tyne, 1898, shows Humble & Thompson, steam ship owners and brokers, to be agents for The Leeds Phosphate Works and so they must have been in existence then.

See other Leeds Phosphate works (Star of David) seals.

This is a British seal from Leeds but the owning company is German (Hoyermann Phosphate Factory, Hannover) - See BSG.BS.02017
