Found on the outskirts of Pitlever near Dunfermline in Fifeshire.

A Russian flax bale quality control seal.

First side:- First line - СПБ = SPB = St. Petersburg Second line - НоП.2 = Indicates the quality and type of goods but uncertain what initials stood for.* Third line - А.И.Г. = A.I.G. = these initials are thought to belong to the owner or exporter or their agent. Fourth line - 1832 = Date of grading

Second side:- First line:- ЛД = LD = Flax Inspection (L'nyannoy Dosmotr) Second & Third lines:- ВЬICT? / КИНОН?? = V'IST? / KINON?? - (initials & surname of Quality Control Officer) Fourth line:- H28 = N28 = the number of the post the QA Officer worked at.*
