An early Archangel flax bale seal - 1823.
First side:- First line - .А.П. = .A.P. = Archangel Port Second line - ЛНЯН:БРАК = LNyaN:BRAK = Fax Bracking Third line - 3.ЯС.P = 3 P is third grade and straddles the ligature of the producer or agent's initials, yaS. Fourth line - 1823 = date of grading.
Second Side:- First line - A.P. = Archangel Port Second line - ДЕСЯЦКО = DESyatsKO = desyatnik = quality control officer Third line - СЛ = SP ligature initials of the quality control officer.
