Stylised palm tree in circle surrounded by pellet circle // DOVAI, scrolling above

Inside of opened seal shows cloth weave imprint and the OV on the rivet stub plus scrolling below.

"Several similar seals have been found at London and there is one from Paisley in Scotland (Paisley Museum collection). ... Cloths were sealed at Douai from at least the mid-fourteenth century ... The town produced camlets in the early-modern period, to which the present seal can tentatively be attributed."
