BSG.CS.00197 — Cloth Seal, Norwich Weavers' Company Seal

Found on Thames foreshore, 42 x 20mm.

N / O(R retrograde?) / (WI) / (CH) // (??) / IC(D?)? / DEH? / ?? .

A Norwich cloth seal with the letters in a well known style on one side (although this particular seal seems a bit unusual) and the other side shows the surname initial of the 12 wardens of Norwich & Norfolk for that particular year. It is normally possible to identify the missing letters from the Norwich Mayor's Court Book held at the Norfolk Record office under reference: NCR Case 16a/24,(fol. 68v). Unfortunately no record remains for this set of initials.
