Identified by Jan van Oostveen as being from the Dr. Mortiz Blumenthal Chemical works in Berlin.
Further research from the finder, "believe this was likely linked to Chymosin tablets, classified as 'Organic Ferments' and used for curdling milk to make cheese. Quite an interesting process as to how it's made too! A patent was registered in 1886 by a chap with the same name (Dr Moritz Blumenthal of Grunau near Berlin), then later went to the Court of Appeal in New York in 1892 due to issues over the content of the product." - 1886 Publication of US344433A.
