Front (possibly L.)CARTWRIGHT Jr curved around the top, MILLER across the middle and ALREWAS (Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire) curved around the bottom. Back has GUARANTEED around the top, PURE across the middle and -----N MEAL curved around the bottom.
From the National Archives at Kew Alrewas Mill Company Limited. “The object … A) – The renting the Alrewas Water Corn Mill,” Registered 9/6/1870 Alrewas Mill, Lichfield, Staffordshire. 29/6/1887 resolution passed to be wound up voluntarily – “This Company was dissolved… by notice in the London Gazette dated 29 JUL 1902.” This may be another company working in the same area as not mention of Cartwright can be found.
