From Steen Agersø, "Görlitz, Germany. Easternmost town in Germany. Text is probably: FARBER GORLITZ. Means (Färber Görlitz): Dyers Görlitz"
From Paul Cannon, "A link to another of these - adds some more details LOVECPOKLADU.CZ... Another one - Detecting People ... Yet more Gorlitz seals of a slightly different type - I presume the shorter inscription reads GOR - the style of crowns is exactly the same with ?numerals above and below see LOVECPOKLADU.CZ. ...
I have shown the two Gorlitz seals [recorded on this forum] to the museum in Gorlitz. Dr Jasper von Richthofen of the museum [Görlitzer Sammlungen für Geschichte und Kultur] comments that though he has never come across any Gorlitz cloth seals before, he believes that the seals actually read "forder" which he says is a word indicating a quality mark meaning "first class quality cloth"."
